Black Dragons Studios has had the current design for a while now and that is why it's time for a new one.

The new design will be lighter in color as well as in shape, offering a better navigation, a new members section with inside news and much more.

Black Dragons Studios is determined to present a stable website with proper programming and will therefor keep the W3C CSS & XHTML standards, even with the new website.

The new website design will be released on Monday, the 6th of Septembre.

We use fonts for every document we write, for each page we print out and read, and even now, while reading this article, you are using a font to display the text.
If fonts are so present, then why don't we notice them? Because you can just select one of the over 100 fonts to use for your whole text and that's it? Because we don't really care how fonts are made?

Black Dragons Studios has started developing the 'Font Designer'. An application allowing everyone to make their own personal font.
The font designer offers a simple wizard that guids the user through the steps needed to create a font. Reducing the additional options to a minimum makes it possible for everyone to create a font.
For advanced users their will the option to ignore the wizard and create a new font all by themselves. The 'Font Designer' allows the user to change numerous settings in order to individualize the font even more.

One of the most interesting functions will be the 4-Step-Wizard with which a font can be made of one's own handwriting in just 4 simple steps:

1. Print out the sheet of paper that is needed for the font
2. Fill in the paper with a pen
3. Scan in the paper with your scanner
4. Save the font file on your computer, on a memory stick or anywhere else you like

No matter how you create your font, in the end the 'Font Designer' will create a font file which you can install on your local computer. After the font has been installed you will be able to use it just like any other font.

In the next few days Black Dragons Studios will create a new category 'Tools' on this website, where you will be able to retrieve further information about the 'Font Designer' and any other projects we are working on.
You may have asked yourself if Black Dragons Studios has now stopped working on computer games. That is not the case, we will just be releasing some tools, but our primary focus will remain on game development.

The new 'Visual Studio 2010' has been released by Microsoft.

The new version of the development environment not only supports the .NET Framework 4.0 but also offers a ton of other improvements such as the new start page or the support of two monitors.

As already know from it's predecessor Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 is available in different versions, including a free version that can be downloaded from the Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express website.

Black Dragons Studios will now start developing with the new environmnet, but will offer a second version of every project which is designed for the .NET Framework 3.5, until the .NET Framework 4.0 is integrated into 'Windows Update', ensuring that every user has the r equiered framework.

Hello everyone,

This blog will be a rather short one since the only reason it exists is to announce that the first few details of our project Commanders have been released.

Commanders will be a online only strategy game. One of the key features of Commanders will be the Intelligent Combat System (ICS) that controls all your units and lets them react in a more realistic way.

Commanders is still in the design phase which means that you shouldn't expect any screenshots or other in-game material for at least a year. We will obviously keep updating the blog and the project page of Commanders if there is anything new.

The developement of the curling game is proceeding and Black Dragons Studios expects the first beta version to be released end of 2010. For any interested game testers an alpha version will probably be availible in summer 2010. To get more details about the alpha version please contact us.
